Set up by a team of skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Ski 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of respite-breaks for families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to care institutions and fund research into the positive effects of exercise and altitude and how they can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Colin will attempt the challenge in the Austrian ski resort of Saalbach alongside ski jumping legend Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards!
Colin's challenge is a BIG one. In just one day he intends to ski a vertical height of 29,029 feet or 8,848 metres.
To put this into perspective, that's as high as most airlines fly or the height of 3,400 household staircases!
Over the years, I have had family members, friends and colleagues who have battled with cancer.
By undertaking this epic challenge, I aim to mirror their strength and resolve - using my love of skiing to give support to such an amazing and worthwhile charity.
