Set up by a team of skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Ski 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of respite breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise and altitude and how they can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
On Thursday 9 March 2017, Andrew Crook will attempt to become a World Record Holder by skiing the vertical height of Mount Everest, the World's highest mountain, in just one day!
Andy's challenge is a BIG one. In just one day he intends to ski a vertical height of 29,029 feet or 8,848 metres.
To put this into perspective, that's as high as most airlines fly or the equivalent height of 3,400 flights of household staircases!
Andy will be undertaking the challenge alongside ski jumping legend Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards in Saalbach (Austria) to raise funds for Ski 4 Cancer.
"This is going to be a very tough challenge but it's for a great cause. I've known a lot of people who have been affected by cancer... this is for them.
If you're able to sponsor me to complete this mammouth challenge, I would be very grateful indeed.
Thank you."
