|NEWS||15th Feb 2017|
Set up by a team of skiing and snowboard enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Ski 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of respite services for families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to care institutions and support research into the positive effects of both altitude and exercise and how they can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
On Friday 11 March, an intrepid team of skiers (The Capted Crusaders) will attempt to set a new World Record to help raise funds for Ski 4 Cancer.
Their challenge is a BIG one. In just one day they intend to ski the vertical height of Mount Everest (a vertical height of 29,029 feet or 8,848 metres).
To put this into perspective, that's as high as most airlines fly or the equivalent height of 3,400 flights of household staircases!
The team will undertake the challenge in Austria alongside ski jumping legend Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards!
Having tried to get the World Record last year, we know that this is one TOUGH challenge. Hopefully enough people can complete the course this year and we will all come home World Record holders!
Any donations will make a huge difference.
