Set up by a team of skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Ski 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of respite breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. skiing) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Their challenge is a BIG one. In just one day they intend to ski a vertical height of 29,029 feet or 8,848 metres.
To put this into perspective, that's as high as most airlines fly or the equivalent height of 3,400 flights of household staircases!
Ian and Tanja will be undertaking the challenge in Saalbach (Austria) alongside Eddie 'The Eagle' to raise funds for Ski 4 Cancer.
"Knowing many people that have been confronted by cancer in recent times this is a great charity which provides relief for those that need it most - please give generously!!"
